Intercultural Youth Dialogue Association IYDA e.V

IYDA Germany

Intercultural Youth Dialogue Association is a nonprofit that is promoting international intercultural and youth exchanges. Intercultural Youth Dialogue Association e.V. (IYDA) was founded in 2017 in Bonn as a sister organization of the Egyptian club IYDA Egypt from Cairo, founded 9 years ago. IYDA Egypt is an established, registered non-profit organization in Egypt, and German society also has charitable status. IYDA is a member of the Europemobility Network and co-operation with the organization in various countries around the Globe. We, volunteers at the age from 15 to 35, provide education training and cultural exchanges for youth in order to encourage fellowship among nations. Our main mission is to promote peace and mutual understanding through an international exchange program for the youth.

Our Mission

We see our mission in promoting this understanding and peace between peoples by providing key competences in the field of intercultural understanding through youth exchanges and political education. In addition, young people should learn to recognize cultural differences and develop their own personality through our work. This should contribute to improving the dialogue between nations in order to help resolve conflicts that could result from cultural differences. IYDA and IYDA Egypt are pursuing these goals through training courses and seminars with international participants from different countries.

Background & Experience

The founders are members of Egyptian society and other founding members from different cultural backgrounds. We see cultural diversity and intercultural understanding, building a deep understanding between people from different cultures, as a crucial key to peaceful coexistence in order to achieve and maintain a peaceful world.

Our Projects

With some of our projects on a local, national or even European level, we also aim to support migrants and refugees, for example by involved in the project HOME in Luxembourg, which aims at the integration of refugees and their language promotion.
